General Rules For The Game
General Rules and Regulations
A. Seven game officials will be used.
B. The Executive Director will select the game officials. Alternate annually the officials crews from the north and south part of the state as defined in the coaches and players selections process.
C. High School Rules will be used.
D. Each team may use either an odd or even defensive front. If an odd man front is used, offensive guards must be left uncovered (except for unbalanced lines) and no lineman may drop off in an overhanging position to adjust for strong/weak sets or for coverage adjustments. If an even front is used, coaches must declare the technique to be used by the four linemen (shades/head up) and they must align this way on every snap. Lines may slant and play gaps in either front, however no stunting/blitzing may be employed by any one playing off the line of scrimmage at the snap of the ball. Coaches must declare what defensive fronts they are using on Monday preceding the game. Multiple coverages may be used with either front. See letter “G” for goal line adjustments.
E. No stunting will be allowed by anyone playing off the line of scrimmage.
F. The two head coaches must declare/exchange with each other the offensive formations that will be used by his team during the game. The exchanging of this information must be done on Monday prior to the game.
G. A team may use the Goal Line Defense when the opposition reaches the opponents 15 yard line. These defenses must also be exchanged on Monday prior to the game.
H. The ball may be run out of the end zone on punts and kick offs.
I. If a team is behind by 14 or more points, they may select to kick or receive after a score.
J. Failure to comply with the above game rules will result in an unsportsmanlike penalty of 15 yards.
K. NCAA College play-off rules will be used if the game is tied at the end of the regulation time.
L. Fifteen minute (15) quarters will be played.
M. An official time out will be taken with 2 minutes remaining in the game.
